how to choose a vase
I found an article in this months Details magazine about how to chose and use a vase (Page 88 of the March issue). It’s interesting because we constantly have this conversation about how to educate people, especially men, on easy ways to use flowers. Flowers are not as scary as it may seem. So boys… Read up!
It’s a crime to put flowers in a plastic solo cup! Don’t ever do it or I will find you and it won’t be pretty. Now I won’t lie, I have been know to use glassware as a vase. If you’re going to try, just make sure it’s a nice looking glass or something with some character like an antique mason jar (if that’s your style). I totally agree with the author of this little article, go out and buy one or two nice looking vases that you wouldn’t mind having out on a shelf with out any flowers in it. They don’t have to be large. Buy something small that only a few stems would fit in. You’ll be much happier.
As a rule of thumb use one type of flower. You can’t go wrong. It look sophisticated and it’s easy. Cut them all at the same length and let nature do it’s work.
I’ll get off my soap box now and sorry for the crappy scan. Hope this helps you guys and maybe some ladies too.
