Doing it the Wright way.

FLW Grey HomeOver the weekend I scootered out to Oak Park with some friends to wander around the Frank Lloyd Wright neighborhood. While I really enjoy the Prairie Style for it’s clean lines, I tend not to dig the color schemes that are often associated with the style. The style tends to embrace brown, butter and sage green. There was one house that stood out from the rest. It was painted light grey with dark grey trim. My favorite colors! In this design you can really see the asian influence. The front porch has an almost Pagoda look. I’m going to have to do some more research into Mr. Wright. After seeing his home and the homes he designed in that neighborhood I am totally intrigued.

  1. I visited FLW house and studio in Oak Park last month – it’s great. But I recomend you to read a book Loving Frank – even if it is a fiction – it potraits him as a person and his real life a lot. I can say he was a man of a great talent.

  2. I’ll add it to my reading list. Thanks!
